ALL EVENTS REQUIRE A TENT PERMIT IN LAKE FOREST, IL

Community and entertainment events often use tents and other temporary structures to provide short-term shelter. Tents can be erected, but the City has a variety of restrictions and requirements for these types of structures. Depending on the size of the structures or Tents equal to or less than 400 square feet(20 x20 ) may not require permits. If you have a tent or canopy that is equal to or greater than 401 square feet, you are required to have a permit.
Tent and Canopy permits must be submitted at least 10 working days prior to the event through the Standard Plan Review process. Permits can be submitted by the homeowner (we will provide fire certificates) or submitted by House of Rental.
INFORMATION REQUIRED FOR PERMIT SUBMISSION: PROPERTY PLAT OF SURVEY, GOGGLE EARTH VIEW OF PROPERTY & TENT FLAME RETARDANT CERTIFICATE.
THERE MAY BE ADDITIONAL CHARGES ADDED IF:
SPECIAL DRAWINGS OR PLOT OF SURVEY PLANS ARE REQUIRED
ADDITIONAL INSURED CLAUSES ARE REQUIRED
ON SITE INSPECTIONS ARE REQUIRED WITH FIRE MARSHALL
ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS ARE REQUIRED
LATE NOTICE & PERMIT EXPEDITING SERVICES FOR LAST MINUTE EVENT
ADDITIONAL MUNICIPAL REQUIREMENTS FOR TENTED EVENTS.
