Additional Information

  • Drive-thru graduation? How Illinois high school commencement ceremonies might look this spring amid COVID-19 pandemic
  • Our solution provides For drive-in graduation in large parking lots, students and immediate family household members would get to the location and stay in their cars to watch graduates walk the red carpet. Sound equipment would likely be needed, transportation would have to be provided for students and families without cars and, depending on class size, multiple ceremonies may be necessary, the guidelines note.
  • For drive-thru ceremonies, families would come in waves and leave once their student was recognized.
  • ADD TENT LED LIGHTING WITH 1- 5KW GENERATORS
  • ADD FULL SIZE RED CARPET
  • Example: Have 2 graduation times 10am & 12pm.
  • 100 graduates divided by 2 ceremonies.. Now we have 50 kids, 1 graduate per minute.
  • 1 lane = 50 minutes
  • The Graduate gets out at the first 16x24 TENT & gives his name and walks the red carpet down to receive the diploma at the end of the runway. Graduate gets in the car at the end 12x12 and drives away.
  • Finish the tents out like the Oscars ceremony.
  • 8' Fabric Drape step & repeat,
  • 60' of stanchions,
  • Music,
  • Custom backdrops available.
  • These events will require precise scheduling, traffic control, and school safety personnel, etc. and may be appropriate for small to medium-sized graduating classes in less trafficked areas, according to the guidelines.
  • In either driving scenario, students could individually get out of their cars to have their photos taken. Student make their way down a 80' tented walkway and family can take pictures of the graduate with the step and repeat backdrops. Professional photo's can be taken by a district or school photographer, according to the guidelines.
  • Other options include having students come to their school at set times to walk across a stage and have their photo taken. It is a good option to honor and photograph each student in their cap and gown, holding a diploma.
  • Regardless of how a ceremony is held, there can t be any person-to-person contact or handing of diplomas or other items, and markings and pathways must ensure students are always at least 6 feet apart. Any procedures related to photography should be clearly communicated, and families should get copies of photos for free, according to the guidelines.
