  • The OdorStop purifier creates ozone (O3) in a special process that utilizes an electrical current to convert normal oxygen into O3. O3 sanitizes by breaking down odors, microorganisms and other pollutants at their source. Any unused ozone converts back to normal oxygen in about an hour.
  • Nature creates O3 as a natural air cleaner in a number of ways. For example, if you've ever taken a walk after a thunderstorm and experienced the clean, fresh smell in the air...that s O3 at work.
  • Normal oxygen (O2) molecules with two atoms of oxygen. An electrical current such as lightning transforms oxygen (O2) molecules into ozone (O3), activated oxygen.
  • Ozone (O3) breaks back down into oxygen (O2), as extra atom attaches to pollution molecule. Each extra oxygen atom oxidizes odors and pollutants.
  • Some Important Considerations:
  • With OdorStop Ozone Generators, you can say good-bye to strong fragrances and deodorizers that simply cover up odors. OdorStop uses the power of ozone to get rid of odors fast and easy without chemicals. Simply close off the area to be treated and let the OdorStop do its work. With the turn of a dial, it attacks odors at their source and leaves your space smelling fresh and clean.
  • For best results the ozone generator should be set up at least 4 feet from floor. For treating larger areas, an oscillating fan is helpful to circulate the ozone throughout the room.
  • If possible, allow a small amount of fresh air into unoccupied area to be treated to maximize performance. For example, when treating a bedroom, crack a window open about 2 inches.
  • The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires ozone output of indoor medical devices to be no more than 0.05 ppm (parts per million).
  • The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) recommends an upper limit of 0.10 ppm, not to be exceeded at any time.
  • EPA's National Ambient Air Quality Standard for ozone is a maximum 8-hour average outdoor concentration of 0.08 ppm.
  • If an ozone generator is running while people are present, the EPA recommends the proper settings should be selected so that the ozone level is less than 0.08 ppm.
  • For example, an ozone generator operating for 15 minutes every hour with the ozone output set on low, will effectively treat a small room approximately 12' x 12' without exceeding the recommended ozone level. A simple test is to let your nose be your guide. Residual ozone becomes apparent to sensitive humans in the range of .01 - .03 ppm. or well below the permissible levels for continuous exposure according to FDA, EPA and NIOSH guidelines. If the room is larger, these run times, or settings, can be increased accordingly.
  • CAUTION: OdorStop Ozone Generators are for use in unoccupied spaces only. Excess ozone concentrations can cause mucous membrane and respiratory irritation. Ozone generators are for commercial purposes and not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or persons with lack of experience and knowledge. Children should never set up or operate an ozone generator.
